The University of the Witwatersrand and Penn State are partnered in AfricaArray:
AfricaArray is a major program for geophysics research and for science capacity building in sub-Saharan Africa. The program originated as a collaborative project between the two universities and the South African Council for Geoscience, but now has many more partners across the continent. A 20-year initiative, AfricaArray refers to scientists working on arrays of continent-wide linked projects; arrays of shared training programmes and observational networks; and above all, a common vision that Africa will build and retain capacity in an array of technical and scientific fields. For more information on the program and the partnerships, see the AfricaArray website.
